Update
Well, I haven’t posted in a long time. You see, I always mean to post, but I never actually get around to it. Well, here’s an actual post.
I recently participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition PNW Regional. My team, #1432 (team1432.org) placed 22nd out of 55 in the regional. Although that rank is mediocre at best, it’s the best our team has ever done, so we’re very proud of it.
Tomorrow I’m attending the TechStart Computer Programming Competition, and there could be a fabulous trophy. but probably not.

I haven’t posted in a while, I suppose I should finally get around to it…
Nothing terribly interesting has happened, things have been going pretty well. Of course, there was the lockdown…

School starts
Well, school started a few days ago. It’s been hard getting up that early, but I daresay I’m surviving. My new teachers are interesting - a lot of them are really laid back, and some are just plain wierd. Of course, I suppose that’s to be expected.
My lab partner, try as he may, can not light a bunson burner, so that may become interesting if I’m ever gone. In addition, the Mandarin teacher is as abnormal as ever. We went to the bookroom to get our books, and she wandered off the wrong way, mysteriously arriving about the same time we did anyway. Perhaps she’s magic…

California: Wind Harp
I went to see a small artistic destination, the Wind Harp. the Wind Harp is located on the top of a hill in the middle of a group of Genentech facilities. the Wind Harp was build by Artistides Demetrios to mark the industrial park that used to occupy the land. it is now owned by the San Francisco Historical Society. It wasn’t windy enough to hear it when I was there, but it’s cool looking, and the hill offers an excellent view over south San Francisco

California: Computer History Museum and Zoo
I went to two awesome locations in the last two days: the Computer History Museum and the San Francisco Zoo. Hit up the read link for reviews of the two locations and pictures from the SF zoo.

California: San Francisco
We finally arrived in San Francisco. These are photos from our wanderings around downtown SF (after the break, as usual).

California: SF Bay
The next stop is the San Francisco Bay. We took a tour by boat of the Bay with Red and White Line Tours. This tour took as around Alcatraz and under the Golden Gate Bridge, which I have included photos of. We also saw the Wave Organ, an odd organ-ey sculpture thing out on the jetty around the Yacht marinas. It wasn’t very impressive when we went, as it was low tide. Photos after the break.

California: Fort Ross
We also visited Fort Ross. This was a fort built by the Russians when the Russian-American country first sent them to California to hunt. They built a heavily fortified encampment to fend off the Spanish, who were determined to control the land. These photos are from the restored fort and visitors center.
